Thankful

I'm laying here as I have all day holding my feverish Freddie. Listening to Kevin read Amelia her bedtime stories and William singing songs while building ships out of Legos... All the teeth are brushed, everyone is settling in for the night. I am truly thankful for these days..in spite of the sickness or because of it I have felt more at home than I have in quite some time.

My little family has started to harmonize and get into a rhythm...our own tribal customs that I hope brings them joy and happiness. I want them to remember their mama making their boo boos better with kisses and ward off all evil.

Life has sped up so fast..I spend my time trying to pack my life full... I crammed my life so full of stuff I never enjoyed it because I was always focused on the next thing. Now I just want to fill my world with the ritual and traditions that bond us together .

Things are good...very good. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for that reason. No gifts just food family and memories ..

I will leave you with one of my favorite recipes to make.

Buttermilk Salad
1/2 cup pecans
2 cups buttermilk
1 tub cool whip
1 large packet lime Jello
1 large can crushed pineapple

In medium saucepan heat crushed pineapple to a boil with jello until dissolved . Stir in nuts, buttermilk, and cool whip off the heat . Chill overnight . :)
