October Updates

It's been a wonderfully busy beginning of the month. It's chilly outside for the first time this year and it smells like autumn... I drive home through twists and turns of bright fields of crisp grass with huge rolls of hay. And although it's dreary today...it was contrasted with the most amazing hues of blue I have ever seen.

Saturday(the 3rd) was my day... I awoke early in the morning around 7:30am to go to the Walk For Midwives. No one was there around 8 so I walked over to the crafts fair and got a skirt and terracotta pot for 2 bucks then walked back over to meet up for the walk. I met a bunch of interesting people and chatted, bought some t shirts and baked goods and then loaded up to hit the Farmer's Market at the Festhalle. It was crowded and buzzing at the farmers stands as the Oktoberfest activities were kicking off already. I went by my usual booths grabbing my natural soaps, a buckaton bar( my breakfast) from a local organic farmer, and then going back to feel of the quilt I have been lusting after. I headed across the street to check out the puppy dogs and saw they were selling tie dye shirts..then a guy came up behind me and asked me if I liked them I said "yes" and he handed me two certificates for free ones! My day was just starting on a great foot.

I was on cloud 9 a I drove back home to pick William up to take him to Oktoberfest to play games and such. I got home put the lamb in the crockpot with some garlic and rosemary and I was off again to enjoy my day. By the time I got back up to town both little kidlets were asleep so I headed to my favorite orchard to go grab a couple bags of apples. All of my pink lady apples sold out the same day they picked them so I settled for their last two bags of Granny Smith.

We got back to the festival and I roamed around the rummage sale, I intended to hit it at 6am but that wans't going to happen because I was up till 2am. At any rate I got a book and a platter for 50 cents and headed up to see my sister and her family who were volunteers at the booths. William had a blast there with his cousins and the tickets were only a quarter each so we got to spend the rest of the day there just playing games, eating... and getting myself into trouble by bidding in the silent auction.

So all was well and good I was finally tired and drove back home to drop William off with Kevin and I popped back out to the festival to play bingo and win my goodies at the auction. It was so much fun and when the auction was over I was the winner of my almost brand new ( used twice) Ashford Elizabeth 2 Spinning Wheel for only $110... you might think that is a lot till you click on the link and see the list price.

I quickly put my prize in my closet before unloading the amount onto Kevin.. I was nervous and twisted up thinking about how angry he would be... then told him and he wasn't even irked! Just though it was something I would do lol .

Then to top the day all off I got to hang out with my parents. And my bff Laura and her little boy came by it was just perfect!

It was totally my day.

Not to mention my laundry room is now complete... tile and all!

Updates !

William- He can play patty cake and sing it all by himself. Along with being able to tell when his shows are on. H e can tell you how old he is and his name. We are working on learning are letters and he knows ABC but that's about it right now.

Amelia- She's been a chatterbox from the get go and has been saying thank you since around 8 months old, and bye bye. But now she is saying "Yesh" and "choo choo train" She loves trains just as much as William. She keeps me up late at night saying "no" when I say we need to go to sleep.

Kevin- He's been working busy as a bee working on and finished the laundry room and cleaned out the old laundry room for my pantry!

Well you already heard about me.. so I am off.. because I got more Oktoberfest to do!

Love you all,
Elizabeth
